President Obama has yet another nominee with tax issues, which seems to be a pretty consistent theme for the Obama Administration. The Wall Street Journal reports that Lael Brainard, Obama’s nominee for the International Affairs portfolio in the Treasury Department, is under investigation by the Senate Finance Committee due to some discrepancies with her personal tax returns, specifically with some home-office tax deductions she made according to their sources.

She joins the hallowed ranks of Geithner, Daschle, Sebelius, Solis, and Killefer as Obama nominees with tax problems. I guess we should be thankful there aren’t any more 9/11 “truthers” being appointed, but you’d think for a party that believes “higher taxes are patriotic,” they would at least deign to pay their taxes, even if it’s at an unacceptably lower rate…
